Martin Murray warmed up for his big domestic fight with George Groves next month by picking up a stoppage victory.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, George Groves will take on Martin Murray on the undercard to Anthony Joshua's IBF world heavyweight title defence at The O2 on June 25.

Trainer Shane McGuigan believes three-time world-title challenger George Groves can reach the summit of the super-middleweight division by the end of 2016. Earlier this month, the former Commonwealth, British and European champion Groves resumed his latest quest for a tilt at global honours when he blew away unbeaten but largely untested Scot David Brophy on the undercard of the IBF heavyweight title showdown between Charles Martin and Anthony Joshua at the O2 Arena in London.

Anthony Joshua MBE will make the first defence of his IBF World Heavyweight title against unbeaten American Dominic ‘Trouble’ Breazeale at The O2 in London on June 25. Joshua ripped took both the belt and unbeaten record of American Charles Martin at the same venue on April 9, and he'll be looking to take another '0' in his maiden defence.

Super middleweight Martin Murray is pretty confident that he's capable of outlasting George Groves in a likely showdown for the summer.

George Groves has indicated that he will fight for the European title again soon. The Hammersmith super middleweight, who won the title back in September, 2014 against Christopher Rebrasse, is now mandatory for the same belt. Groves will have to face Callum Smith, the undefeated Liverpudlian (19-0, 14 KOs), if he wants to win back his old prize.

The EBU has asked their Super middleweight titlist Callum Smith (19-0, 14 KOs) to make a mandatory defence against George Groves (23-3, 18 early)—the organisation's website has stated that the parties are in ‘private negotiations’ over a fight for Smith’s recently acquired title.

O2 Arena, London - In a battle for the vacant WBA International super middleweight title, George Groves (23-3, 18KOs) easily battered previously undefeated David Brophy (16-1-1, 1KO) in four rounds.

George Groves believes he is thriving now that he is again training alongside high-quality fighters on a daily basis. The talented super-middleweight concluded a run of disappointing performances by stopping Andrea Di Luisa in five rounds in January in his first fight with new trainer Shane McGuigan.

Promoter Eddie Hearn presented the press the opportunity to hear from the undercard fighters earlier today ahead of Saturday’s fight between IBF heavyweight titlist Charles Martin and Anthony Joshua at London’s O2 Arena.
