LAS VEGAS – Montana Love went the distance for the first time in four fights Saturday night, but he remained unbeaten on the Canelo Alvarez-Dmitry Bivol undercard Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
LAS VEGAS – Montana Love cannot wait to disappoint some of Canelo Alvarez’s fans by beating one of his stablemates on Alvarez’s undercard Saturday night. The unbeaten junior welterweight contender from Cleveland is set to square off against Gabriel Valenzuela
LAS VEGAS – Canelo Alvarez came in at almost exactly the same weight Friday as he did for his only other light heavyweight bout. Guadalajara’s Alvarez was officially 174.4 pounds for his 12-round, 175-pound title fight against unbeaten WBA champion Dmitry Bivol on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. Bivol, of St. Petersburg, Russia, stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale slightly heavier than Alvarez, at 174.6 pounds, on a makeshift stage outside of T-Mobile Arena.
Montana Love has been added to the Canelo Alvarez-Dmitry Bivol undercard. Matchroom Boxing and DAZN announced Monday afternoon that Love will meet Mexico’s Gabriel Valenzuela in a 10-round junior welterweight match May 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Those two corporate partners also confirmed what BoxingScene.com reported two weeks ago, that unbeaten heavyweights Filip Hrgovic and Zhang Zhilei will square off in a 12-round IBF elimination match on the Alvarez-Bivol undercard.
PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – Erika Cruz (14-1, 3 KOs) of Mexico City, Mexico defended her WBA Featherweight World Championship against Melissa Esquivel (12-2-1, 4 KOs) of El Dorado, Sinaloa, Mexico at the International Convention Center in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico and live globally on DAZN. After 10 rounds of exciting action, Cruz won via split decision as one judge scored the fight 97-93 for Esquivel, while two others scored it 97-93 and 98-92 for Cruz.
Guadalajara, Mexico - WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez (18-1, 14 KOs) had a game challenger on his hands. He broke down and stopped Joel Cordova (12-5-2, 3 KOs) in the sixth round of a fight filled with many exchanges.

Matchroom and DAZN have announced a series of fight nights live from Mexico in partnership with Canelo Alvarez and Canelo Promotions as well as Eddy Reynoso and Clase y Talento. The first event in the new four-part Mexico series will see Julio Cesar Martinez defend his WBC World Flyweight title against Joel Cordova at the Domo Alcade, Gigantes de Jalisco Arena in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday, June 26. This follows on from DAZN and Matchroom’s new five-year global deal announced last week.
Valenzuela, Davies Fight Photos Gallery - Valenzuela, who is now 23-2-1 with 13 quick, dropped Robbie Davies Jr. in the third round of their clash on the undercard of David Avanesyan’s long-awaited European welterweight title defence against Josh Kelly, exclusively live on Sky Sports and DAZN, en-route to a razor-thin points decision going his way.
Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela picked up the biggest win of his career on his first trip outside Mexico as he claimed a majority points decision over Robbie Davies Jr at the SSE Arena, Wembley. Valenzuela, who was unbeaten in his previous 20 fights, ultimately carried too much power for Davies. He found the Liverpudlian an easy target in the first four rounds, dropping him with a right hook in the third, and while Davies battled back in the middle rounds, Valenzuela closed the show in the final round when he looked close to forcing the stoppage.
