Former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (26-0, 19 KOs) is only a few days away from his second fight of the year.

On Saturday night, Fury will hit the ring in Belfast when he faces world title challenger Francesco Pianeta.

But it's Fury's potential third fight of the year that has his juices going.

If all goes well on Saturday, Fury is potentially going to face WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) in the fall.

Wilder will be ringside for the fight, and Showtime has picked up Fury's upcoming bout.

Both sides indicate that a deal is nearly complete.

Wilder was initially in talks for a unification with WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO world champion Anthony Joshua - but they were unable to reach an agreement on the terms.

Joshua will now face WBA mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin on September 22nd at Wembley in London.

Fury believes Joshua, and his promoter Eddie Hearn, ran away from the Wilder fight.

For Fury, he's overjoyed to be involved in what he believes is the biggest fight of the year - and he's even more overjoyed with Hearn having no involvement in the event.

“I’m just sat here thinking, isn’t it marvellous that the world’s biggest fight, Fury vs Wilder is going to happen and that smug little t****r Eddie Hearn has nothing to do with it at all," Fury said.

“He has nothing to do with the world’s biggest fight — or his little puppet on the string the fighter he’s got [Joshua].

“They’re not involved in the biggest fight the world has ever seen, between the two biggest heavyweights on the planet.

“The two most controversial — most outspoken heavyweights out there — both over 6ft 6, both talkers, one Brit. one American.

“Isn’t it marvellous that this fight is going to happen and little Eddie ain’t got nothing to do with it.”
