WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is getting more involved in assisting the support efforts of NHS staff as they battle the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Fury has added his support to the NHS donating tens of thousands of hydration drinks to those working on the frontline. The global pandemic has become overwhelming for some workers.
Fury came together with one of his sponsors, Wow Hydrate, to donate electrolyte water drinks.
"It's such a difficult time for everyone across the world at the moment. In this country the NHS workers, as always, are being amazing and truly inspirational in the work they are doing," Fury said.
"I have been told that NHS workers are getting lots of food donations but not enough drinks so I contacted my sponsors WOW HYDRATE and we have agreed to donate tens of thousands of electrolyte water drinks.
"The giveaway has worked well so far in a number of London facilities and we are all delighted that we can do a little bit to help the amazing NHS workers to stay healthy and hydrated by providing drinks that are high in vitamins B6, C and D which along with electrolytes boosts immunity and aids recovery."
A few days ago, Fury urged everyone to stay indoors - as directed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson - to decrease the spread of COVID-19.
It was reported on Friday, that Johnson himself has tested positive for the virus.
"I would just like to say that I hope everybody is keeping well and staying safe and staying indoors and not going out because of the virus," Fury said.
"After listening to what the prime minister said, I've taken it deadly seriously, as should you. Let's fight this virus together as a nation, as a family and as a team, and do the best to help others not get the virus. Stay indoors, it's very, very important, listen to Boris and stay indoors."
