Los Angeles, CA - Undefeated and world ranked welterweight Fredrick “General Okunka” Lawson returns to ESPN next Thursday night, March 26th in the 10-round welterweight main event against perennial contender Breidis “El Khanqueror” Prescott in Hialeah, Florida.

Featured on a special edition Thursday Night Fights, the 25-year-old, heavy-handed  Lawson, 23-0-0 (20KO’s), of Chicago, IL via Ghana, will look to continue impressing fight fans following his 10-round unanimous decision over Ray Narh on October 1, 2014 in Santa Monica, CA and telecast on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

Said Lawson, “Camp in Big Bear with Coach Sanchez has been terrific. We’ve had great sparring and I’ll be prepared for victory once again when I face Prescott next week.”

Stated Michael King of King Sports, Lawson’s promoter, “Fredrick was very impressive in his win against Narh last October and we’re thrilled that ESPN is having him back.”

“He’s only 25 years old but he’s a very tough, strong fighter. He’s getting better every day training with Abel Sanchez and we look forward to another great performance next week.”

Said renowned trainer Sanchez, “Although Fredrick has a large number of stoppages, he’s not really a knockout specialist. We’re not looking for a firefight, but more along the lines of a late stoppage in a tactical fight. “

“We’ve had a great camp of almost twelve weeks with plenty of time to refine and improve on what Fredrick does best.”

Lawson is currently world ranked #12 by the International Boxing Federation.

“We know this is a dangerous fight, Prescott is much more experienced but Fredrick is ready for this challenge, “ said King. “That’s one of my strongest beliefs, have your fighter prepared to win not just prepared to fight.”

The 31-year-old Prescott enters the battle with a record of 27-6-0 (20KO’s), most recently dropping a hard fought 10-round decision to Roberto Garcia on July 25, 2014 in Chicago, IL.
