Promoter Frank Warren is chomping at the bit to get his heavyweight charge, Daniel Dubois, in the ring with British countryman Anthony Joshua. Warren, the head of England-based Queensberry Promotions, was in high spirits after Dubois stopped Trevor Bryan in the fourth round of their WBA “World” heavyweight title bout earlier this month at Casino Miami Jai Alai in Miami, Florida. The win gave Dubois, once a highly regarded prospect, his third straight win since his knockout loss to Joe Joyce in 2020.

COME OCTOBER OF this year, we can look forward to welcoming one of the most formidable fighters on the planet to London when Artur Beterbiev rocks up to take on our own Anthony Yarde in defence of his three world title belts.

Daniel Dubois can expect a homecoming for his next fight once he’s done with his victory lap. A second straight trip to the U.S. resulted in another early knockout for the hulking Londoner after dispatching Trevor Bryan inside of four rounds earlier this month at Casino Miami Jai Alai in Miami, Florida. The feat saw Dubois claim a secondary version of the WBA heavyweight title in the process. The plan now is to defend on British soil while awaiting out a dream opportunity for the division’s top prize.

Promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions, who promotes Anthony Yarde, expects his boxer to face unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev in the fall.

IRISH SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT star Pierce O'Leary has signed a promotional agreement to fight under the Queensberry banner and to be managed by Francis Warren.

Tyson Fury has yet to determine his next course of action as it relates to his pro career. Among the things he ruled out, however, were claims of his being on course to face the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk-Anthony Joshua rematch later this summer. A report from the UK’s Daily Mail claimed that Manchester’s Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs) was in advanced talks to face the winner in December for the undisputed championship, with both fights to take place in the Middle East as suggested in the report.

BY BEATING THE champion Trevor Bryan to take ownership of the WBA world championship belt on Saturday night, Daniel Dubois acquired a golden key to the heavyweight kingdom.

The long wait for a heavyweight clash to materialize between Trevor Bryan and Daniel Dubois was extended to the final pre-fight weigh-in. The absence of an official scale caused an hour-long delay before the pair of heavyweights could officially check in for their secondary WBA heavyweight title fight. The show eventually moved forward, with Bryan and Dubois complying with commission requirements to proceed with their main event at Casino Miami Jai Alai (Saturday, Fite TV PPV, $29.99).

Daniel Dubois isn’t threatening a full-blown American takeover but does plan to make the most of his time on this side of the pond. The London-bred heavyweight contender has touched down in Miami for his upcoming challenge of unbeaten secondary WBA titlist Trevor Bryan. The bout takes place June 11 on an independent pay-per-view presented by Don King, Bryan’s Hall of Fame promoter, from Casino Miami Jai Alai, marking Dubois’ second straight fight on U.S. soil.
