Francois Botha: record, next fight and profile →
IF a fight outcome was determined by statistics such as weight, age and the number of bouts former world heavyweight champion Francois Botha would be declared a winner long before steps into the ring for his non- title clash against upstart Flo Simba at Emperors Palace, in Johannesburg, SA Saturday.
Former IBF world heavyweight champion Francois Botha is still using past achievements in an attempt to get back to title contention in a heavyweight division lacking a true challenger to the dominant Klitschko brothers.
South African heavyweight prospect Flo Simba (10-0, 9KOs) will get his first test on June 4, when he faces heavyweight veteran Francois "The White Buffalo" Botha (47-5-3, 28KOs) at Emperors Palace in South Africa. The 21-year-old Simba is being called the "next heavyweight start" from South Africa. Local writers are very high on his ability to knock fighters out with either hand. Simba, who weighs between 205 to 211-pounds for most of his fight, has the body of cruiserweight which allows him to be quicker than his opponents.
