One year ago Ruslan Chagaev won the WBA Regular Heavyweight Championship for the second time since 2007 by beating Fres Oquendo. At age 36, the "White Tyson" who is promoted by Akhmat Promotions and TEREK Box-Event, feels rejuvenated and is far from thinking about retirement. "I am in great shape! I haven't felt this good in years - I feel like I'm in my mid-20s", says Chagaev who is currently preparing for his title defense against Francesco Pianeta on July 11th at GETEC Arena in Magedburg (Germany).

Both men have also been second best - to put it nicely - against Wladimir Klitschko but it´s still an interesting matchup and can Pianeta finally put it all together we might see a new heavyweight champion.

WBO European heavyweight champion Francesco Pianeta (30-1-1) defends the title against Croatian Ivica Bacurin (18-6-1) on the Felix Sturm vs. Robert Stieglitz bill on November 8 in Stuttgart. Bacurin had the bulk of his career at cruiserweight and will probably not be able to upset the much bigger and heavier champion.
