Broadcasting and Cable reports that HBO is replacing Fran Charles with Bob Papa as the lead commentator on their HBO Boxing After Dark series.

It was said that HBO and Charles decided to go their separate ways due to scheduling conflicts arising from Charles’ work as a studio host on the NFL Network.

Papa has covered boxing for the Versus network, ESPN and NBC.

Charles has been with HBO since last April, Papa will start with HBO on March 24, alongside Max Kellerman and former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.
