The mods have made an effort to clean up this site. Hopefully we have things better controlled but there are still a few bad apples (not really that many though). The problem is you have just a few alt-right doing things like using the echo symbol and all of the sudden a trend gets started supported by people who have no idea what and why they are doing it...they just think it's cool. So the admins had to put a censor on it. We have a couple of hate mongers who basically use this site for no other purpose than to foster hate. Like you say...basement dwelling lunatics.
