I don't think there is an easy quick fix. I just had to make an effort to continuously do and pursue things that made me happy and remove things from my life that upset me. That's a lot easier said then done, especially when I was at the worst of it and having a hard time getting out of bed at all. But for me that meant getting out of a toxic relationship, finding a job that was more fulfilling, making an effort to reconnect with family and good friends, making long term goals and progressing towards them, and trying to better myself in other ways.
I tried antidepressants, and for me personally none were particularly helpful. But I did find talking to a therapist to be beneficial.
