It’s the ibf for acting too quickly, they said they wouldn’t strip if ggg fought canelo well guess who’s he fighting he just needed to get his money straight because he’s the real A side here as the winner of the last fight.

IBF stated that if lilg fights vanes that he would have to agree to fight derevyanchenko by august IN WRITING even......
that did not happen and team ggg had no interest in derevyanchenko.....
I suppose it's more the fault of the canelo ped situation, because while it may have been ideal for ggg to get the mandatory out of the way may 5th...it shouldn't have been expected. at the end of the day really, it's ggg's fault for assuming the ibf would grant an extention instead of enforcing their rules.
In this case, Canelo doesn't get popped then there's no stripping of the title. Fight goes on and then they deal with the situation after that. In all honesty though, he wasn't gonna fight that kid next either so it is what it is. He would have went for a BJS fight or even Murata in Japan for the money. Didn't really hear anything from GGG about how he feels about being stripped but he's probably more about the $$$ these days from what it looks like.
