  • Comments Thread For: DiBella: How Did Inactive Stiverne Become Wilder's Mandatory?

Lou DiBella posed a legitimate question recently regarding Bermane Stiverne's status. DiBella, who's promoting the card headlined by the Deontay Wilder-Stiverne rematch Saturday night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, can't think of any reasonable justification for Stiverne being the WBC's mandatory challenger for Wilder's title. Stiverne (25-2-1, 21 KOs), who'll turn 39 on Wednesday, has fought just once in nearly three years since losing the WBC heavyweight title to Wilder.

It would be too good if inactive & old Stiverne knocks out Wilder.

His name is Don King. I genuinely have no clue how the man had no fight to become the mandatory but was awarded the mandatory.

Lou....boxing is corrupt as f#ck brother. Didn't you know? I mean lets be all the way straight. How the f#ck did Wilder get a title shot vs Bermane the first time with his bs resume? This sh^t ain't nothing new. Most guys who get title shots didn't really deserve them if we are being honest.

Winning & holding a title should be some epic sh^t. Getting a title shot should require a couple big top ten (legit top ten, not abc bs top ten) wins at a minimum. That almost never happens in boxing.

On top of that he had a positive drug test last year (WBC accepted his excuse and forgave him) and he missed another drug test this year (WBC accepted his excuse and forgave him).

Makes no sense why Stiverne is mando. Aside from the obvious theres not even a logical reason you could use to justify it. He’s not marketable and doesnt have much fans, hes not in great shape, doesn’t do anything that would make him likeable and its not even like he’s handsome. So why they forcing this mando?

Wilder need to get rid of him.

That is actually a great question that Sulaiman needs to answer! These **** rankings are leaving us the fans with AWFUL Match Ups! Or better yet just cut the BS and ask him how much did Don King Pay Him to GIVE Stivernie and Amir Imam at 140 #1 Contender Status without fighting anybody in their Rankings

DiBella knows, he's part of the problem. He's playing the "I didn't know" card.
