Should Deontay Wilder be Allowed to Fight with Steel Pins in His Hand?

No wonder Deontay Wilder is known to have such devastating KO power: His right hand is reinforced with steel pins! He bent the pins against Stiverne, and had surgery to repair or replace them. It's like fighting a version of the Terminator. Anyone else feel like Wilder has an unfair advantage?

naw it's cool as long as the pins aren't adamantium & he doesn't use his mutant healing ability... Lol

Yes, if he has metal in his hand, it isn't fair to his opponents.

Perhaps that's Scott and Lyakhovich, never before known as chinny, went down so quickly.

Meaningless as long as the "brass knuckles" are left out of the glove he's ok!

Metal pins in his hand are more of a liability to him than his opponent. The bone is likely to fracture more so around those pins.

The pins are about the size of screws used for eye glasses. They are used to hold the bone in place so it won't slide while healing. He could get them removed after his bone heals if he wanted, but if they don't bother him there is no real need to be cut open again.

Of course. It probably means his career might be shortened by hand injuries. He should take copious amounts of xylocaine like other boxers.

Are you sure they are that small? He reportedly bent the pins against Stiverne. It seems unlikely that steel pins that small would bend.

Yet in his fight with Stiverne, the pins reportedly bent. There was no mention of the bones in his hand refracturing. Considering how hard he hits with his right hand, I'm inclined to believe the pins are a definite advantage to him.

Yes he should be banned, along with other devastating metal fisted punchers such as Joe Calzaghe
