  • How do you use Jack Dempseys drop step in modern times?

So Jack Dempsey was one hell of a puncher especially for his size.

He was a very clever man and utilized the drop step in some of his punches as a way to generate force.

You doent see modern boxing using the drop step very often, why not? Is it because you are adding huge force to THEIR punches too, if you get caught coming in with it? (I think dempsey was a sucker for a right hand because of this?)

How should a modern boxer apply Jacks use of gravity to enhance his punching power, foot work, and overall effectiveness as a fighter?

Do you still think its good idea to drop step forwards whenever possible when you throw a straight right in modern boxing?
