Nah. Ba'athism - in common with most nationalistic movements that were selling a popular alternative to imperial rule - is primarily Socialistic (at least in it's rhetoric) and anti-imperialist, originally espousing the idea Arab unity and regional dominance - regardless of whether that 'imperial' threat was Western Capitalism or Soviet faux 'communism'. Not quite sure where you got that definition from.

How does this conflict with my own post? Many anti-communist movements are socialistic in a purely economic sense. That's what most of WW2 was fought over.

I think one issue with the analogy to Marquez is the fact that no one ever mentions Mayweather's win against Marquez (b/c it wasn't anything that is worth talking about) but people who complain about the two lbs. Iy wasnt a signitature Mayweather win, it was a getting the "rust off" fight for him. Floyd was the fighter who wasn't sharp.

Rigo is in an uphill battle no matter how any of us try to spin it. Two weight classes and rust matter here. Especially when he's losing in the hand speed department (some people disagree with me but idk why lol). He might be able to nullify the issues, but I seriously doubt that. He's not fighting Nonito Donaire this time.

There is no rust on Rigo. He just KO'd his last opponent, despite a punch after the bell, and didn't appear to have lost a step.

Marquez came up two weight classes while drinking his own urine to prepare for Floyd. Mayweather insisted that fight be a catchweight, one that he didn't even bother to make weight for and refused to get on the scale the day of the fight so no one could see the huge size disparity between them. It was a tainted win no matter how you slice it.

Teddy went into more detail, but I've been highlighting the same points about this fight over the last few months. Love Rigo but he has an uphill battle in this fight imo.

I agree.. I think the weight will be too much for him and also Rigo has been dropped at a lower weight class before. I'm a fan of his but I don't think he'll pull this one off.

I like Teddy's chess analysis. I see Loma as the aggressor here, making the fight happen, pushing the action. Rigo will be content to sit back and try and counter while using lateral movement all night.

While I do agree that Rigo's age and inactivity are a factor, he is a fresh 37, hasn't been in any wars and only has 18 fights to his record. So he isn't battle fatigued and has never been KO'd.

Rigo had his chance to fight Loma a few years ago at 126, but didn't want it. So no excuses now. If you Floyd/Rigo fans are going to credit Floyd for a "great win" over Marquez coming up two weight classes and giving up three inches in height, you better give Loma credit for fighting Rigo coming up two weight classes.

I got bad news for all you Rigo fans. Loma wins this fight via submission using the Walls of Lomachenko on Rigo. It will be a tainted win though as Rigo had Loma pinned while the referee was unconscious.
