Vanes is as "safe" an opponent as Saddam Ali was for Cotto.
Can he pull a Saddam in this one?!?!?!
Now that would turn the boxing world upside down!!!!!

sshhh.... Hopefully he has not been paid to take a dive.

Hope Vanes throws everything at him. I am a Golovkin fan, but this is a huge chance for him and I love a good Rocky story. I am among the voices that is disgusted at the choice of him for a replacement opponent. My biggest gripe -and only gripe considering the circumstances- is the choice of a guy who is not even a true MW. Golovkin could be a 168 fighter. It would be a truly fantastic sight watching this guy who has zero place in this ring give everything he have and make Trip G earn it.

So Vanes is expecting to unleash Edmond Tarverdyan‘s blueprint, the same trainer who couldn’t teach Rousey how to box let alone defend. Reminds me of Tim Lane telling Max Kellerman that his plan was for Algieri to KO Manny Pacquiao.

Max Kellerman: "The plan is to have Algieri knock Pacquiao out?"

Tim Lane: "Yes. But I still got him in the cage. He listens to me very well. I'm gonna let him loose in a round or so."

                      Max Kellerman: "Round 10?"

Tim Lane: "Round 10 or 11, I'm gonna let him go."

                      BOOOM!
That’s pretty much what will happen to Vanes and his incompetent trainer.
