    Because it's a bad habit. Just because top pro's do somethng, doesn't mean small fry trainers should be teaching it. When you get so good at something you get to break the rules if you're good enough.

    No good trainer trains entry level fighters to lean back for avoiding punches.

    Find a new trainer.

        His trainer probably didn't teach him to lean back for defense. It's just a natural reaction.

          That's usually the case in most gyms. Almost like a personal fitness trainer that only has so many hours in the week per a single client
