Never forget Jabs that boxing's a business, if you can draw a huge gate for carpentier and earn a fortune why risk a Greb?
Titles were hard won in those days, if you look at a fair few HW title holders before and after Dempsey they weren't overly busy defenders but earnt money doing exhibitions etc.
