The average citizen may be poor but there is plenty of gas and mineral money in the pockets of the elite class. There is a World Fair in Kazakhstan this summer so bringing a world title fight to the country at the same time could enhance the country's prestige in the eyes of Nazarbayev or some other Kazakh oligarch

Fighting GGG in Kazakhstan is a real Ivan Drago style scenario. Fighting GGG in your own backyard is bad enough!

Yeah, hes the Official Ambassador for it aswell, the thing starts on June 10th aswell which is the likely date for the fight. He'll for sure be fighting, its just who he'll be fighting, and everythings pointing to Saunders

If he actually does it then I reckon he will have been heavily influenced by his mate Tyson Fury and his exploits in Germany

I have zero belief that that fight would take place in Kazakhstan.

It's less embarrassing than getting smashed in your hometown.

True that. Imagine if Billy Joe can survive to the final bell... or even make the fight competetive? "That's the best anyone's ever looked while losing to GGG", etc. The Kazakhs would turn out in force and be hungry for a brutal, highlight reel knockout. Look at that really poor fight in Russia where 250,000 or something crazy like that turned out for a fight. Think it was one of the Chudinov's in a walkover.

I don't care for this and it's a step back from Jacobs , he needs the ginger next.

Can't take anything Billy says seriously. And Frank doesn't have a great record of getting big fights done. At least not recently.

If Golovkin's not fighting Canelo after Danny Jacobs then Saunders is the next best option.

I know GGG likes to be active, wants the belts etc. but if the Canelo deal gets done for September then a fight in June is a risk no matter who it's against as a muscle tear or broken hand can happen against anyone.
