If by bad luck the guy gets permanent injuries after being allowed to fight, the after-effects could cripple the UFC.

Exactly it's not worth the risk, and morally they shouldn't allow it.

Plus it would send a message that this isn't acceptable.

Stop embarrassing yourself and the sport. Cut a normal amount and fight in the weightclass you belong in.
But then they wouldn't get more knock out wins on their record, which makes them ultimately look better. At least, that seems to be the mentality.

I agree, but the grey area of it is that most guys cut a shit ton of weight, so you've got guys mostly competing against fighters their own size (or thereabout), but in a weight class usually at least two or three divisions below what should be both men's natural weight class. It's an awkward situation and the UFC needs to start implementing some new rules where you're only allowed to cut a certain amount of weight below whatever your walk around weight is.

Also, a lot of fighters need to stop blaming the UFC for their problems making weight. No one is forcing anyone to cut as much as they do, take some responsibility and start fighting closer to your real weight if it takes too much of a tool on you to cut weight.

UFC is having some serious issues as of late with fighters making weight, failing to make weight and getting sick from draining their bodies.
