I think if AJ-Klit 2 gets scheduled, as many are expecting, Wilder would then become more open to Whyte as two big names will be occupied. I don't know what's happening in regards to other possible opponents Wilder may be looking at.
But even if AJ-Klit 2 doesn't get scheduled AJ is still not available as the only exception the IBF gave was the Klitschko fight, so Joshua either has 1 fight scheduled or 2 fights scheduled. Both options mean that Joshua v Wilder is not a fight that can happen next so Wilder has to fight someone else.

This is wrong, as is Wilder's braindead response.

AJ is not fighting him next. No matter how many morons scream duck or w/e garbage ppl decide to spew, AJ's priorities are Klitchko 1st and defending IBF 2nd (Pulev). It's an absolute no brainer.

There's virtually no way we get AJ-Wilder next. We would need Klitchko to pull out, IBF to grant a unification fight before mandatory, and for Hearn to think that fighting Wilder on a short notice in an already busy boxing year is a good idea.

Wilder's response to the Whyte offer is garbage too. 3M is a fine payday for him, I believe it's more than he ever got from 1 fight - unless he wins that lawsuit against Povetkin. Fighting Whyte for 3M is better than not fighting anyone, or fighting some other ~top20 contender for a third of that.
And the dude is delusional for asking 7M and be in charge. Like.. what? He's been fighting in his hometown because nobody knows who the hell he is.

There's a reason why it's Hearn that's making the offers, not Haymon/Wilder. Wilder has the belt, but he's the absolute B-side in these negotiations, even against someone like Dillian Whyte.

Hearn's plan was spot on. Pay Wilder well to come over to the UK and build him up. If Whte beats him, hooray, all happy. If he loses, as expected, he's exposed his audiences to Wilder and that makes the AJ fight next year much bigger.

Wilder's options suck ass. He wont get as much as 3M from anyone else, simply because there are no popular HWs besides Klitchko and AJ. Even Fury, if he were to come back, does not bring much financially. He can rematch Stiverne and get booed since he already beat him and Stiverne showed up out of shape vs. Povetkin, he can fight some other 'contender' and blast him out and get paid a mill, or he can take the dangerous Luis Ortiz fight for a mill or 2.

Shrug, I guess. Anyway that gives time for Wilder to get the god awful Stiverne mando out of the way then.

What other fight is going to make him 3 mil? He made 900k for his last fight. He's pricing himself out asking for 7. Be lucky to get 7 when fighting Joshua.

Whyte doesn't deserve a shot anyway. He's got unfinished business with Chisora.

Lol at the wilder fans saying he "laying it down" hahaha HOW???

Its already out there that rven if AJ klitschko 2 doesnt happeb he has to fight pulev as mando eith no other fights beforehand if klit says no to the rematch.

Wilders being offered a huge career high pay day to fight dillian ****ing whyte and he wants over double that?!?! When he will barely scrape a mil for stiverne??

Hearn had already said mauricio sulaiman has stated that if the money is there to keep king and stiverne sweet, the WBC will sanction the bout and deontay knows this!!

He also knows that dillian whyte can take a punch and throw one too.. asking for 7 million as insurance cos he knows theres a huge risk he loses that belt before he gets 10 mil for an AJ fight.

Pure ****ing bum.. and all you wilder fans saying he shouldnt take this fight dont know your arse from your elbow

WBC should have made Whyte/Stiverne fight for that mandatory position, that actually could've been a fun match

Whyte is nowhere near Wilder's level. There's no reason to wander over to the UK so everyone can make fun of him for going all the way over there bum-hunting. It's idiocy..

The problem with turning down Whyte for $3M(?) is that I think its extremely likely Wilder fights a equal or less opponent next for less money.

So why not take the $3M? To prove your dick is bigger? F#ck all that silly sh^t. Give me 3x what I've been making for a similar caliber opponent.

Or maybe he's just trying to talk some sh^t to get a mill or two more cuz I'm definitely one of these mfers who think there is more meta game sh^t going on with all this public back n forth than most fans do who live & die on twitter comments being damn near gospel truth.

Where are all the clowns who bought into the concept of "marinating" a fight? Wilder needs to fight Whyte in the U.K. and generate some exposure with U.K. fans for the big lead up to Joshua. If Whyte is such an easy fight, why not take it, along with your biggest payday to date? Wilder is looking more and more like a chickenshyt excuse maker each day.
