Yup, the rematch was there, Pac was not the one that rejected that time. Besides, that fight should've been an official win for Pac after one of the judges admitted to making a mistake with his scorecard, something which ended up benefiting Marquez more than anyone could've ever imagined.

Plenty of people felt pacquiao lost these fights so why didn't Pacquiao immediately give him a rematch to prove them wrong???

See this is the difference between Pacquiao and fighters like Canelo and TBE. Many people felt floyd lost to castillo and what did he do? He gave him a rematch within that SAME YEAR. People felt like GGG won so what did canelo do? Offered him an immediate rematch

Did Bob Arum and pacquiao wait for JMM to get old??? It appears so but it obviously backfired

Thank god i support true warriors like Ca$hnelo and Mr. TBE

From people that I respect they said it was a robbery (still have to watch it myself, maybe this weekend). He went in the guys back yard and made absolute crap money.

Had he rematched Pac right away I think he would have beat him at that time. He had figured out Pac by the end of the fight and Pac had not improved like he did in later years. Just my opinion.

Pacquaio stalled Marquez out after 2008 though. Marquez deserved the win and had to wait too long. In 2011 they figured Marquez was too old and coming up to Welterweight would be too much.
Juanita didn't have the cojones to immediately rematch Manny in late '04 or in early '05. Just like he was never brave enough to tango for the fifth time with a guy whom he claims never beat him.

The first time around, he was so terrified of Manny's brute force...he would rather travel to some Indonesian jungle and got schooled by local hero named C.J. Another fight he lost but guess what?! He said he was robbed. Yeah right !!!

I'm a fair person though. I give credit where credit is due. At least, Cry baby fought Manny 4 times unlike TBDE (The Best Ducker ever) who made so many excuses to duck Prime Manny.

TBDE should thank cry baby for doing his "dirty work".

I watched film of the Marquez fight in Indonesia and thought Marquez was robbed. I had Marquez a clear winner by many points.

Leonard's team was open to the idea. Hagler turned it down, feeling he was robbed in the first fight.

I watched it once. I thought Marquez won either 7-5 or 8-4. He clearly won, IMO.

Haglar wanted an immediate rematch. When that didn’t happen he retired.

Weren't manny and bob arum the ones who rejected the fight because of drug testing, then ducked the fight again because they didnt want to use USADA and needed more time for manny to heal from a "cut" and build a new stadium in las vegas?

Hmmmm manny has a history of ducking and waiting out opponents so the facts aren't on your side my friend

Pacquiao was not a superstar back then. He's neither A-side nor B-side. He was just like anyone struggling to make it on top. He was also promoted by a guy named Mohammed. He was following whatever his management team comes up with.

Marquez KO'd him after getting robbed previously. No need for a rematch
