The high school I attended in NYC was patrolled by NYPD and private security. There were a lot of fights but most of the stabbings and shootings occurred off school grounds away from the police.

Metal detectors, like someone already posted. The school I went to had metal detectors and also made you use those clear bookbags. If they really want to protect these kids from school shootings they would have them in the rich schools too, don't see why they can't do that

True, I think it may be kids outside the ghetto have a sense of entitlement. Honestly kids in the ghetto dont expect much, they typically come from humble beginnings. You get a privileged kid and you put him in a situation where he feels hes not getting what he deserves or is being wronged (bullied), then you mix that with a mental illness, drugs, and the impulsive nature of a teen and you can get a psychopath.
