Are we counting Cuban turned Mexican citizen ?.

For real though it's a decent top 10, I'd swap Lopez and Saldivar around though, most are probably going to say Marquez is too high, I'd agree but could argue either way I guess.

Glad Zarate is getting some love. Still gotta watch his career set. Lot of knockouts I see in his record, so should be a good one.

He was great to watch. A patient technical bomber. You'll love the fights with Martinez, Zamora, Ferrari and Davila. Those fights were him at his best.

"El Indio" Gaspar Ortega was a very popular welterweight pro in the 50's & 60's.
He was a true road warrior who appeared on more televised bouts in the northeast of the United States. Over 175 bouts and never KO'd
a no excuse and never brag man who has always been respected by insider's and reporters.

Took two out of three from Tony DeMarco, split with Kid Gavalin
lost two split decs to Don Jordan on the West Coast. He lost two to Emile Griffith, one a split and a tko loss in the 12th for the title, his only shot!

He retired after his personal farewell tour when he fought 29 times in 1964!!!!!
Then added 7 more in 65'. He told me he was getting dropped by shots he would have smiled at in his prime so he knew he had to stop. When the legs go theres nothing you can do about it, the chin needs the legs!

Ortega was one of the most popular Mexican fighters of all time and was a guarantee in shape and ready to fight boxer.
