The original Black Panthers were socialists/maoists. That was the foundation of their beliefs. They even spoke out AGAINST black nationalism because they recognized CLASS struggle. They did many things for the communities such as feeding the poor, providing free healthcare, clothing, etc. etc etc., but the bottom line is they saw themselves as revolutionaries fighting a proletariat revolution.



It's clear you know very little about them and only know/believe the common myths/propaganda that surrounds them, thanks to COINTELPRO which was ultimately their demise. You can read basic info regarding that HERE

The NEW Black Panther Party has NO LINK to the original group/members. Some guy came around, made some 10 point program and tried to take the name. This is well documented, you can read the most basic of this on wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Black_Panther_Party

The NEW party is NOT based on the same foundations; they are not socialist, they are not marxists, they are not maoists, they are not revolutionaries. They are extremely reactionary and the black nationalism they promote of course further divides the working class, something the original black panthers would never do (in fact the original black panthers worked with ALL races; whites, browns, asians, etc.).



Richard Aoki (Japanese) was a founding member of the Black Panther Party. becoming a Field Marshal. Using his military training, Aoki assisted members of the BPP in acquiring weapons and trained members in defending the community from the Oakland Police. Aoki was also a leader in the third world Liberation Front (twLF), an organization that led strikes, resulting in the establishment of Berkeley’s Ethnic Studies department.


The original Panthers NEVER promoted hatred; again they were into class struggle. Towards the end of the collapse of the party (again, see COINTELPRO) and thereafter, of course there were several members that went aloof and did/said some crazy things, but again, the foundation of the BPP party was a socialist one, a workers struggle, not hatred. The Black Panthers, and prior Malcolm X, visited many countries and were united with ALL oppressed people regardless of nationality or race.

I can handle property damage since I have insurance on everything, but I'm just worried they show up when I'm not around and my wife panicks, she won't pull the gun out, she's too girly...she'd probably stand there screaming/crying.
