  • Blues legend Johnny Winter dies at 70

Doubt many here heard of this blues/jazz/rock musician from the 60's and 70's. He was an albino guitarist who often did concerts with his brother Edgar who was also albino. Johnny Winter died yesterday.

Texas blues icon Johnny Winter, who rose to fame in the late 1960s and '70s for his energetic performances and musical collaborations including with childhood hero Muddy Waters, has died. He was 70.

His representative, Carla Parisi, confirmed Thursday that Winter died in a hotel room in Zurich a day earlier. The statement said his wife, family and bandmates were all saddened by the loss of one of the world's finest guitarists.
Here is a taste of one of his concerts

I saw Johnny Winter "And" (the second video above) twice during their tour back in the early 70's and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Great rock and roll.

It's a shame the he doesn't get as much props as he should. When people make rankings
of all time guitarists he is usually in the bottom 50, but he was a top ten ATG in my book.
