Originally posted by !! Shawn View PostAs I said before, Pacquiao will still be remembered as the greater fighter, just as Duran is remembered as greater than Leonard, despite losing to him twice, and Hearns, and Hagler.
What he did before that made none of it matter. Same with Pacquiao.
Everyone knows that fights between fighters at the end of their career dont matter, just like nobody is holding Roys current career against his greatness, or Kovalev and Dawson against Hopkins.
The difference is Duran beat Leonard. Which adds massively to his greatness. Pacquaio hasn't and won't beat Mayweather.
To compare Pacquaio today, #2 P4P to Roy Jones' corpse and a nearing 50 Bernard Hopkins is also ******ed.

floyds win over pacquiao is greater than any win on either guys resume and its not really arguable.

the fight just resolves who's the better between the two in terms of matchup
Bradley's win over Pac is more significant than this resume wise

Not to mention Floyd was able to unify the belts after the win which is kind of a big deal.
Despite the fight being far from FOTY, this is quite a boost for his legacy IMO.
Going further, if you look at the overall spectrum.
We're later going to be comparing this Mega Fight, to Duran vs Leanord, and it falls short simply because one was prime for prime, and the other both were past it.
That's the only thing that hurts it, the timing. But a great win nonetheless.
