Have domestic violence statistics in the country gone down since the Ray Rice video?

He said he had a problem with people calling for lifetime bans.

No person with a functioning brain could say that what we saw on video merits a lifetime ban from your profession.
Oh I got what he was saying about lifetime bans. I still maintain that the NFL can legally ban him lifetime. And it's NOT true that doctors and lawyers can't/don't get lifetime bans. Lawyers can be de-barred in states and doctors can have have their licenses revoked.

So he totally incorrect about other professionals not getting lifetime bans. It's a matter of opinion whether or not it is warranted in Hunts case. But other athletes have been banned "for life" but have returned to the field. Being banned doesn't mean it can't be overturned later on.

The question isnt whether Roger Goddell can legally ban him for life, the question is if he should or not.

Give me links to lawyers and doctors getting lifetime bans for crimes that werent even prosecuted. Prove it.

Because for the record, Kareem never even saw a courthouse for what happened.

In addition the girl who was supposedly assaulted didn't take this further neither did anyone else, so let dead dogs lay. Don't ruin a young mans career because of something so insignificant, punish him, maybe suspend him for a couple of games, but don't destroy him.
Red - check the age of who is referred to as a kid.

Exactly but when you look at the NFL and NBA, it aint free market, they have salary caps and sh**t. Some Americans love free market except when it comes to their sports.

I think lifetime ban is appropriate considering this case. Kareem is just a ****** plain and simple.
Same should apply to politicians and teachers?

Doctors and lawyers are accredited in the states where they practice. In the case of doctors, it is usually a state Medical Board that revokes doctors licences. No trial.

"During the first three months of this year, 23 doctors in San Diego County faced some form of disciplinary action by the Medical Board of California, according to the agency’s records." Not all but many had their licence revoked. Meaning they could not practice in CA anymore. http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Publications/D...inary_Actions/

Lawyers also are accredited by state by a state licencing board. Usually it is the state Supreme Court that disbars them, sometimes for a few years, sometimes for life. Bill Clinton was disbarred by the US Supreme Court. If you call this a trial, fine, but it was just a hearing, no more or less than Hunt got by the NFL.

John Dean, famous Watergate lawyer, was disbarred by the State of Virginia for life after a hearing, not a trial.

                      Etc. Etc.
