  • Ronald 'Winky Wright vs Floyd Mayweather

Obviously at 154, who do you all have winning this one. I've heard people say that Winky would have been too big and too strong for Floyd and I've heard other people say that Floyd would just be too fast and too slick for Wright.

    What do you think ?

Floyd picks you apart from the shell & Winky breaks you down behind his guard.

This would be one of the most casually unappealing fights of all-time. Honestly can't say who wins for sure.

For the casual boxing fan, unappealing it may be.

For the boxing fanatic, a great and very technical fight.

If Floyd got on the bicycle, he would win the fight by default without landing 10 punches in real terms (never mind what the nominal stats of Compubox would say).

And it wouldn't be anything like Pacquiao Vs Clottey either. It would be tit for tat with Floyd winning most of the rounds but just barely, in a stinker (as someone correctly pointed out already.)

Mayweather is too fast and too quick. Wright would get battered the entire fight.

Winky's punch variety and lack of power would not bode well for him against a speedy backfoot technician (that's the role I think Floyd would take), especially one with great defense.

Winky is a big technician, he has a great defense of his own and a very good jab, but he doesn't push the tempo enough to beat someone like Floyd. Even while winning comfortably he is content to cruise (Trinidad). Mayweather might cruise sometimes in the late rounds, but even then he is constantly adapting and trying out new things. He's always doing 'something', usually a lot of feinting and trap setting in the late goings.

We've seen Floyd switch up the tempo time and time again in a close fight. For once, it may even come down to Floyd being the more active fighter. That's not to say many punches will be landed though. They may break the record for least punches landed in this one.

Good question. Oscar did well against Floyd with the jab. All winky used was the jab. On fight night winky would out weigh Floyd by 20 pounds and cruise his way to an unanimous decision
