sparring and on ropes / in corner

    Generally you dont wanna be on the ropes. Some experienced fighters can box well off them though.

    A good trick is the "3 hooks" move where u throw 3 short left hooks and pivot a little with each one in order to get off the ropes. Hard to explain on here tho

      I don't think I've ever had that called on me ... Maybe pushing off. But if I got put on the ropes I'd often go for a clinch and wait for the ref to break.

        that's because you're fighting locally where they give a bit on the rules to allow you to learn. at the nationals you would certainly get called on it.
