Povetkin's meldonium results were very low and they still called that fight off and Wilder sued him and won so I'll pull rank on your guy. So the 'if it's only a little bit it doesn't matter' excuse is not accepted, some people microdose and others take substances to flush their system, and because they're doing shady shit they're using shady people so it doesn't always work 100% and you end up with 'low levels' people scramble around to find excuses for.
The Mexican football team tested positive in 2011 and since then the issue has been known about but the top Mexican boxer with a team of people advising him on exercise and diet just gives it a go anyway? Right...

"As part of the voluntary testing program that Canelo Alvarez insisted on ahead of his May 5 fight, one of his results came back positive for trace levels of clenbuterol, consistent with meat contamination that has impacted dozens of athletes in Mexico over the last years," Golden Boy Promotions, Alvarez's promoter, said in a statement addressing the positive test.
"As Daniel Eichner, director of [the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory], the WADA-accredited lab that conducted the tests stated in his letter [on Monday], 'These values are all within the range of what is expected from meat contamination.' Upon receiving this information, Golden Boy immediately notified the Nevada State Athletic Commission and Gennady Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler."

So you are telling all fighters to go train in Mexico from now on so they can use PEDs and cheat?
Pure Damage Control. Extremely suspicious that a WADA official bows down so much to make excuses for Canelo and Golden Boy. Money Talks.

I’m not an expert on the meat industry in Mexico, but it’s apparently a nationwide problem. Doesn’t make it low-quality. You could argue he shouldn’t be eating any meat in Mexico given what’s going on there, though https://t.co/7GJ9WWm0nT

58 out of 200 slaughterhouse's in Mexico were found in 2016 to be producing contaminated meat. This is a huge problem for the anti-doping authorities. https://t.co/NIZd475brp
