I am saying it takes roughly 5 minutes, could take up to 10 minutes but this is just based on my experience.

Second, I do not think the article mentions how many times breaks there are and how long each one lasts. If they are lets say, 10 minutes, then A - these breaks may not occur during the relevant prayer times and B - are obviously not long enough to do more than one thing.

        None of this is contradictory.

And finally, according to the US constitution, as I quoted, one should be allowed to freely express their religion, a company that doesn ot allow that is in breach of the constitution. I know most companies allow time for prayer and lunch etc.

Again, if you read the article, Amazon's practices are inhumane and surely in breach of employment, certainly they would be in the UK and we know companies like Amazon, google et al have been in trouble for similar breaches in the past, regardless of religion.

              This is from the article...

two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute break each shift

They get an hour each day. If its like Target, they're still even getting paid for half of that time. It's not enough, doe...

So an hour break, in total over an 11 and half hour shift is not enough in any way or for any reason. Normal office working hours of 7.5 would have an hour of lunch for example, so there is, once again, an employment issue. As I said, companies like this have been in trouble for such issues in the past.

Now, who are you to say a 15 minute break is enough for them to both wash (which must be done before prayer), then to pray, then to get something to eat or whatever else people do in a break?

Like I said, the bottom line is that your constitution calls of freedom of religious expression AND a right for those who feel this right is being oppressed, to peacefully protest it. These people are being more American than you.

I think the real issue for you is that they are Muslim, which is fine. If you want to have bigoted views for that reason, be plain about it, do not hide like a child and pretend you have some other reason for that.

                  An absolute joke.

Everyone should get the same breaks (Time) regardless of religion, gender or race.

You get your break time, and you do what you want in that time.

You don't deserve anymore than anyone else.

But this has been going on before with these smokers thinking they can get extra breaks too.

Having two 15 minute breaks and 30 hour for a shift (8 Hours)

                    Is sufficient IMO.

People should have the right to negotiated extra breaks if they need but that should be docked from their wages.

People should get paid for the work they do as well.
But socialist policies has messed that up too. Now you can get people that twice as much work but gets paid the same.

If they feel they don't have long enough breaks, they are more than welcome to find other employment. As long as the breaks are within the legal limit, there isn't a problem. I don't get an hour break for a 7.5 hour shift, only a 15 and a 30.

I'm nobody to say a 15 minute break is long enough, but the legislators that made that decision are.

They are more than free to express their religious beliefs, however, the company is within it's rights to have production standards.
