  • Kell Brook Training Routine Breakdown

    Video going over the training routine of Kell Brook here;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fd0R1fCLnE

    Brook has been working with a team at Sheffield Hallam University, based off this they put out this paper "strength and conditioning recommendations for professional boxing";

    https://www.ingentaconnect.com/conte...00003/art00010

    The paper sits behind a paywall though so you might not be able to see it. Most of it is covered in the youtube video.

    *This doesn't cover the technical aspect of boxing training just his strength and conditioning routine.

    The old school methods remain tried and true.

    As of yet the newfangled science approach hasn't proven itself to be as consistently successful.

      that is seriously not true. training in the 'old school' way is sub optimal. The reason alot of the guys who follow those methods are good is because they are just talented and skillful fighters who succeed despite their poor conditioning methods, not because of them. and they are usually super relaxed in the ring because of their skill and experience so they dont get as tired.

      heavy lifting to build strength will cause HUGE gains in speed and power when done properly (low rep ranges, compound movements). Combine with box jumps and med ball throws for maximum effect. I've experienced it myself dude its not voodoo.

        And how has that affected your cardio and the ability to stay fresh for 12 rounds?

        I'm assuming you box and aren't just training to build strength.
