From a sales and promotional side, the UFC is dwindling. That chit doesn't matter though because awesome fights are still being made.

The main event for 226 is off the chain, and we have TJ vs Garbrandt on 227, plus lightweight has too many good fights that will happen eventually

I don't think it's that cut and dry. Fights like Punk vs. Jackson especially with both guys fresh off dominant losses and then put on a snoozefest yet are a featured scrap... Simply cannot happen.

The whole appeal of UFC to these fans was twitchy action and quick endings. Those days are long gone, died with the onset of random blood and urine testing.

UFC has peaked a few years back - too violent, not enough rising prospects and stuff like that. And as others have said, the novelty has worn off.

Personally, it got kinda boring with the wrestling and lay'n'pray crap.

That's what was great about Pride when they were around. They never allowed that crap, giving warnings and eventually fining fighters part of their check if they did that for too long. One is the only promotion that comes close to that. They have the best rules IMO though, allowing more strikes on the ground, so as to give more opportunity for finishes.

It's one of the things that I didn't like about the UFC, the rules favored the ground fighter vs a fighter with a striking/stand-up background. The striker was limited in the he way he can attack against a ground fighter, ex. 12-6 elbows that got Jones DQ against Hamil.

            Pride fighting was the goods.

I've been saying for a while that UFC is slowly losing it's star power, with no young guys really picking up the slack. Their shows in general become more and more uninteresting.

Ngannou and Lewis didn't get that memo.
