Be honest, why does Ward want to fight a smaller guy so bad?

Ward and GGG's trainer have traded a few trash talks but really when you think about it

99% of the ggg-ward "needs to happen" talk has happened... right here on this forum via guys who want GGG to lose even if it's vs a much larger opponent

most people in the outside world are talking about fights that can actually happen (kovalev-ward and ggg-canelo)

sometimes a few angry butthurt dudes on the forum make it seem like there's massive demand for a fight when there simply isn't

ward said he would fight w. klitschko too, it's just idle trashtalk
    Very good post

Now they have backtracked and stated they want to stay at 160 unless they can get a Mayweather fight at 154. Mayweather has never weighed over 151.
Actually, the whole K2 and Sanchez gang have learned how to stir publicity gossip the way Top Rank has been doing it for years. Most people think that GGG is the one making these calls when in fact it's K2 putting it into headlines or hearing Sanchez say his thing. Look at all the interviews of GGG in the last 2 years regarding Ward, Chavez Jr, Froch... none of it adds up when reporters question GGG, it's all awkward contradictions and never owns up to what a reporter wants to hear. Just all rumors speculation.

THe fact is, GGG himself, has only stated he has interest in Cotto or Alvarez, mainly because of the money involved, and less of a risk HE believes. Either way, how can GGG go wrong in making the cash for the WBC belt?

          it's called risk vs. reward.

same reason he'll probably fight canelo/cotto at 155.
so the boxer who has difficulties getting fighters in the ring because they are "scared" is starting to use high risk/low reward scenarios???

          excuses

What kind of weird crap is that? That would be like Golovkin trying so hard to get a fight with Floyd. Wards fans would be so mad at that, so why are they so focused on the smaller man who they say Ward would easily beat? Don't fans want their favorites to overcome great challenges anymore?
I reject this whole notion that Ward wants Golovkin "so bad." That's total bullcrap and it's insulting to people's intelligence. He's a pretender. He did zero effort to make the fight happen. HBO approved of the fight and offered it to both. Ward could have instructed ROC to fire the opening salvo and ROC would have been glad to do it, but Ward never did.

Ward/Golovkin is a great fight. I hope we get to see it some day.
Isn't Cotto one of these so called champs at 160 ? or is he the 155 pound Champ ?

everyone does. or at least their manager.

why you think jotto is fighting canelo?

he calculated that even though canelo will kick his ass, it'll be good money.

He doesn't think GGG can beat Ward...you can see that by how some of his die hard fanatics act....like he is picking on him or something
