  • [REAL TALK] List some examples of...

...movies that society commonly waxes lyrical about that youu actually think are quite ****.

    My list includes:

    Star Wars Trilogy
    Lord of The Rings Trilogy
Citizen Kane (Wtf?! Could barely stomach 5 minutes of that film)
    White Chicks
    Every Roger Moore Bond flick

There are prolly more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

    What about y'all?

Who the hell waxes lyrical about White chicks? Thought it was known as one of the most ridiculous films to hit the cinema.

I tend to not like Oscar bait movies like Schindlers list, A Beautiful Mind, Munich, etc..

I don't like super hero movies.

Also agree with you about Moores Bond.

Oh and pretty much any Seth Rogan movie.

      Agree with the ****ing bold.

Superhero movies belong in the realm of animation. Live action just cannot replicate the magic of comics and animation.

Oh, and White Chicks, lmao. That was more of a pet peeve. I know too many stoners, and was forced to watch that ****.

I second this. The Wayans bros have underrated humor.

Also the OG Star Wars trilogy was bad ass. The new ones that came out since the 90s were crap.

Almost any movie heavily praised this decade was overrated at best. Most were actually complete **** though.

Yo, I couldn't take it personally. I like the Wayans brothers, but White Chicks... meh.

That said, I always have time for Undercover Brother. Eddie Griffin in his pomp was hella funny.

Love the Wayans Bros. I also like Don't Be a Menace, one of my all time favorite movies. And Scary Movie.

I got sad when the Wayans Bros show can't cancelled. Pops was the best. Lmao

Just about any movie that is nominated for Best Picture Oscar. For 2018 nominees are likely to be:

                  “Call Me by Your Name”
Emilie Georges, Luca Guadagnino, Marco Morabito, Peter Spears
                  •“Dunkirk”
                  Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan
                  •“The Florida Project”
Sean Baker, Chris Bergoch, Kevin Chinoy, Francesca Silvestri, Shih-Ching Tsou
                  •“Lady Bird”
Eli Bush, Evelyn O’Neill, Scott Rudin
                  •“The Post”
Amy Pascal, Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger
                  •“The Shape of Water”
                  J. Miles Dale, Guillermo del Toro
                  •“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, Martin McDonagh

I never saw any of them.

                  Others that are highly overrated:

                  Fast and Furious movies

                  Get Out

                  Anything starring Seth Rogan

                  Newer Star Wars

                  WWII/Nazi/Holocaust themed movies--enough already!

Preachy Civil Rights/activist/PC themed movies in general (Hidden Figures, Detroit, Fruitvale Station, etc)

                  La La Land

Getting tired of Emma Stone, way overexposed.
