Man I'm pro-gun but sometimes listening to stupid conservatives speak about the gun issue makes me cringe. "To blame assault weapons for these tragedies would be like blaming airplanes for the 9/11 attacks." Yea because any American can just go to the plane store and buy a 747. These actions caused tension that turned into a shooting War... THIS IS ONE REASON THE 2ND AMENDMENT WAS PASSED TO BEGIN WITH...

The colonial revolutionaries DID NOT HAVE A ARMY... Each of the 13 colonies had their own militia made up of Citizens who were part-timers... Then each Colony raised regiments from its citizens for defense....

All Colonial soldiers started out as either part time citizen militia or citizen, using there own guns and guns confiscated from the British during battles....
