  • Drop step forward with the left (front arm) hook, bad idea or good?

lets say you are fast enough to pull off lead hook and I am against most average speed guys.

Well "normally" you use the drop step to the left or right with the hook punches and only forwards with the jab and cross. Obviously to enhance their power.

But lets say you just wanted to start a combination with the left hook. Or just land it.

The fastest way to move forward is to drop step forward. So why not drop step forward and throw the hook AS you are stepping forward?

The drop step wont increase the power of the punch but it will get you in range in the fastest possible time.

Will it be a problem with the drastic forward momentum interfering with the rotational force of the hook? Will they merge and throw it off?
