No announcement yet.
Even in his prime, Khan was never some sort of master boxer

He would slaughter Khan on his best day from the first round until the round he KOed him in which would probably be round two or three. Remember he was with Roach when Garcia dropped him in the 3rd and finished him in the 4th and Spence is much better than Garcia was. Khan never was the monster you are saying he was and his chin is weak no matter who trains him or what shape he is in.
A prime khan vs spence would be spence getting beat up early as he tries to box, adopt a high guard to pressure and get beat up and circled just like he did in the ams, till khan slows down and he starts pummelling him. Odds of spence beating a prime khan early are very low, his chances come late and if he is too timid he might lose like maidana, who is actually a better counter puncher and a more ferocious pressure fighter.
Something a trainer has mentioned about spence, is that he looks like a deer in the headlights when attacked. It's an interesting take, i've thought he has a lost look on his face when buzzed and looks very vulnerable but he also lets himself get backed all the way across the ring when being attacked and usually on the full defensive. Why feather dusters like algieri, heerden and a tiny fat garcia put him on the ropes and hit him there.Last edited by SplitSecond; 04-22-2019, 09:27 AM.

Most guys without real power will have a hard time with that khan because when he was with roach and ariza and was in that insane shape he could take a hell of a punch. Guys like mayweather and even spence who is not a good counter puncher and doesnt have one punch power would suffer fits vs a prime khan, mayweather more so since spence would eventually be on him late. This is why they say you can't outbox him, not so much that he's a master boxer.

I have no idea who started this myth that Khan out-boxes people before he gets caught with a lucky shot. Canelo was whooping his ass. Some people are just in love with Khan's ineffective flurries. Those welts on his ribs during the Canelo fight were from all the power punches Canelo landed to Khan's body.

Spence slaughtered Algieri and won every round by a mile. He knocked him out which no one else has ever done. Khan just barely beat Algieri and never hurt him. Spence also slaughtered Heerden and knocked him out. Spence gave undefeated former 140 pound champion Mikey the beating of his life. He won every round and landed 380 punches to Mikey's pathetic 75 punches. Not bad fighting for a deer caught in the headlights. Khan couldn't kiss Spence's ass as a fighter on his best day. Spence would beat the hell out of Khan from the first round on just as he did to Mikey and just as Crawford did to Khan.Last edited by SplitSecond; 04-22-2019, 10:39 AM.

great post, people are so blinded by speed that they ignore all the stupid stuff he does in the ring. The guy is far from a great boxer

Speed is such a natural advantage but when you are tone deaf to everything else, you wind up splattered.

Khan is like the living embodiment of that quote from Roger Mayweather.
"speed ain't **** if you don't know what to do with it".
That will be Khan's boxing epitaph.
