Actually it's not much of an achievement at all.
True. SO lets say Vitali won. Then he still lost to his best opponent and his best win would be over Chris Byrd. Is that any reason to think he can beat Joe Louis?

    WHat is Vitali's best win?

Carnera and Vitaly have very similar styles. And Byrd may have lost the majority of rounds, but they were all close.

Officially he lost but Byrd didn't exactly beat him either. It was luck and you know it.

havnt watched the fight, though as knowledge of boxing, a big guy constantly having to jab after a smaller quicker opponent then hes used to can destroy a shoulder.

its the same thing that happened to Liston, a faster fighter then he was used to and it destroyed his shoulder.

He was getting out punched but he was hardly being out landed. He was also able to back Vitaly up repeatedly. Now this is a guy with no power doing this. Louis would be landing harder, more effective punches. No doubt Joe would break him down like he did Carnera, Simon and Baer.

Yeah, making him miss repeatedly was lucky.

Byrd beat him, and Vitali did absolutely nothing about it.

-Vitali was out for only 7 months, just long enough to miss a rematch. Vitali returned literally days after Wlad took care of Byrd.

-In 2005 Vitali and Byrd were the #1 and #2 heavyweights in the world and Vitali retires. He returns only AFTER WLad takes care of Byrd for a 2nd time.

If it was 'luck' like you say, why couldnt Vitali prove it himself with a win?

So out of the history of heavyweight boxing this has happened only a handful of times and based on that and Vitali's record it's a 2 in 46 chance of it happening again if he were to fight Louis. I will agree to those being that odds on Louis beating Vitali. The only blueprint to beating Vitali is injuring him and I don't think that's what Joe would enter the fight thinking.

louis isnt beating vitali because vitalis shoulder gets messed up, louis is knocking both of them the fudge out, in under 6 rounds.

the only reason people bring up byrd in this situation is to show that size dosnt matter and infact can be an advantage in speed, not to compare him to louis, or to claim vitali is going to get a sore shoulder.

louis is leauges better then byrd.

Byrd had went on to get clobbered by Wladimir so the rematch was useless as it wouldn't have been for a belt. Had Vitali been losing the fight closely or something or Byrd had the belt still it would've happened.

Now that that is out of the way, answer my hater question. I'm waiting.
