Hopkins Fouled By Dawson = No Contest.. But Khan Fouled by Crawford = TKO?

Hopkins was barged to the canvas by Dawson and, although an illegal move, it wasn't anywhere near as damaging as the game-changing and unquestionably illegal low blow that Khan received from Crawford.

The first Hopkins vs Dawson fight was at first declared a TKO by the incompetent referee but the California State Athletic Commission changed it to a No Contest.

Khan vs Crawford, where arguably a much more damaging illegal shot was landed, was declared a TKO by the incompetent ref and the New York State Athletic Commission did not take the necessary action to correct the decision by changing it to a No Contest.

How do you explain the double standard?

It would've went to the cards if Khan's corner didnt stop it and Crawford would've won. Hopkins-Dawson was in round 2. Fight is official after 4.

Khan's corner stopped the fight, not the ref.

Khan was getting beat up pretty good so they saw the low blow as an opportunity to step in and stop the fight.

Khan was going to lose anyway, but yes, it is strange with that wasn't a no contest. If Khan had taken the 5-minute break and still said he hasn't recovered to continue, maybe things would be different.

Khan didn't win a single round and was on his way to getting stopped. He was hit in the leg and given 5 minutes to recover but he quit in two minutes. All the fight was beaten out of him and he just gave up to a much better man. Nice try though.
