  • Great boxing documentaries?

Have seen most of the Ali ones- When we were kings, Thrilla in Manilla, facing Ali, Muhammed and Larry etc.

Have seen the other obvious ones like HBO legendary nights and assault in the ring.

I am currently downloading 'Ray Robinson- Bright lights dark shadows' and 'boxing deaths'.

Can somebody please recommend some good ones i may have not seen? Thank you.

Hard to locate a copy of, but Kings Of The Ring, narrated by Louis Gossett, Jr & focusing on a series of Heavyweight Champions, was a really well-done doco. There are various other Boxing docs which use the, "Kings Of The Ring," title, but this one was the stand-out.

Brights Lights and Dark Shadows is a great documentary.

HBO's Legendary Nights is good, but the myths and half-truths it contains (which pollutes boxing forums) prevents it from being great.

Anyone seen the relitively new Julio Cesar Chavez one? Think it's called J.C.CHAVEZ or something like that, the front cover has a cartoonic picture of Julio.

It's like a autobiography kind of thing, but including alot of other people.

                  It's a good watch.
