Should Joshua Go Into A Immediate Rematch vs Ruiz?

This seems like a horrible idea to me.

I can't recall a time when a guy took a sustained beating like Joshua did + get knocked down so many times + eventually stopped & had a good result in a immediate rematch at this level of the game.

And even if its happened I know the odds are horrible at someone reversing this type of L.

I think he should. If Ruiz should take a fight with Wilder before Joshua and lose the belts, then Wilder/Joshua will never happen. AJ needs to get some better conditioning coaches. He was gassed by the 4th round. I don't think Ruiz' punches really hurt him all that badly as much as he was exhausted for some unknown reason. He needs to get back in with Ruiz this year, providing the rematch clause is still in place and Ruiz is willing to fight him in the U.K.

What’s the alternative? Let the titles go to the PBC circles ?

His best chance of being champ again is a rematch because if he doesn’t trigger the clause, it’ll be a long time before he gets chance to get them back, if he gets chance at all.

I think it might be a bad fight for AJ but absolutely essential if he wants to be a world champ again

Idk that you can fix that. Joshua is a big muscled up mfer. Big muscled up mfers have trash stamina.

There's pros & cons to virtually anything & one of the cons for all those muscles is that your stamina isn't going to be great.

Joshua is gonna have stamina issues for his whole career like Frank Bruno & Mike Tyson did.

He should. Rewatched the fight a few hours ago and there was no sustained beating neither. Still take some time off though, he needs to do a bit of soul searching.

I don't think its a good idea either but at the same time I think he should go for his belts back and try to avenge his loss right away.

Ruiz should stand his ground on a rematch in Mexico. Don't let Joshua return to his comfort zone. Take him into an intimidating cauldron.

You know, big muscle guys in baseball are having issues with oblique injuries. Guys like Aaron Judge (6'7") and Joey Gallo (6'5") and others are straining and bending swinging and throwing. These huge, muscular boxers are also prone to injury. Think of Vitali Klit; always having issues.

Joshua shouldn't give a f#ck about PBC sh^t. Thats DAZN's concern. DAZN is trying to battle PBC (& ESPN) not Joshua.

Sheeeeeeeeet. WBC guy is probably making Joshua the #1 contender & next mando for Wilder as we speak. And Joshua is gonna be a high contender if not #1 by all these groups in their next rankings. He'll have a shot within 12 months & he could probably use that 12 months to recovery from this bad night & work on some sh^t.

Idk about essential, but I understand the allure by Team Joshua at reversing this L as soon as possible. I just don't think its a smart move for their ultimate goal.

Sometimes you gotta take a step or two back to insure you can get where you wanna be. Can't rush things. Sometimes you need that movie montage moment irl that happens in 2 minutes on the screen but really represents weeks, months or years in real time.

Another loss would be disastrous for Joshua's career. He did say he wanted an immediate rematch in the heat of the moment but what was he supposed to say? "Nooo I don't want that smoke again... His nuts are bigger than mine!" lol
