  • When did Ring-Card Girls first appear?

They're a routine feature of every promotion, but how long have ring-card girls been part of the pro-boxing scene? I'm guessing that feminist groups opposed their introduction.

    Anybody know?

At fights in the 30's and 40's young boys would carry the cards showing the round number. Ring card girls probably didn't become relevant till the 70's. I can't think of a single fight where I saw one from the 60' on down.

The cutest ring-card girls IMHO were the Budweiser babes at the Great Western Forum. The contests they took part in were memorable.

I believe Ring cards girls started in the late 1970s at Caesar's Palace.
