tennis elbow / arthritis

my arm hurts a tiny bit at the elbow and it makes a grating clicking noise when moving. im trying to rest it up as much as possible but its proving difficult. what can i do to help it heal? and how long will it take? seems like i have worn down the cartilige from all that bad work i have been doing
