Spain got off faster in the 1st Q, and even led by 5 in that quarter. After that, it was see-saw and tit for tat all the way. The US never pulled away at any time, leading by double figures but losing it again and again in a blink of an eye. But the lead lingered around just 4 points in the ealry pard of the 3rd before it got up again to 9 at the end of the 3rd. Spain made a run to get within just two points in the early part of the 4thQ, 91-89. At this point I made a prediction that whoever gets to 100 points will win it. USA made its own come back and gets back up to 8 point lead. It stayed to within 8 points until Spain took a last ditch effort to make it to within 4 points with a little over 3 minues to go, 108-104! That was the scariest moment for the USA team I suppose. But that was the last of the gallant stand by the Spaniards as the US hung on to the end as if saying "we do not want to wait for another 4 years to redeem this dream!".

USA deserves it because they fought off the best game Spain played ever this Olympics.
They showed they wanted it more and showed the heart that the previous losing contingents lacked towards the end game.

Spain on the other hand deserves the silver more than anyone else cause they showed they got the class and talent it takes to beat the US Team, if ever they meet again.

A classic Olympic Final Game for the ages!

Yup WADE has been fantastic in all games, but this one mattered the most, especially his 3 pointer in the dying minutes. Kobe showed his inexperience in international games in this game, but still, his presence and late game heroics have been enough to make a difference.
