Used to love watching Sumo when it'd come on at like 4am on ESPN back the day. Loved the history of it all. I've often said boxing should copycat their tier rankings & how guys move up & down tiers to better insure more competitive fights & that the best fighters move up & the others move down.
I still check up on it from time to time, but I've never heard of this guy. And I see why looking at his career. He got to yokozuna finally & although winning his first event the injury he sustained in that match seemed to have ended his career more or less despite it going on for awhile longer.
Unfortunate way to go out. But can't take being a yokozuna away from him.
