About time we get a "REAL NINJA" in here to set this one straight. But yeah, the true art of the ninja was to decend upon their victims and strike a fatal blow and then disapeer back into the shadows without ever having been heard or seen. They were masters of stealth and disguise and they sought always to avoid direct confrontation. Sure they were also highly proficient practioners of various martial arts, but their true occupation was as spys and assasins, and they're primary objective was to kill quickly and efficiently so as to minimize the harm brought upon themselves.
