anybody have any comments as to things that they DO NOT want to see in the scoring, structure, or otherwise?

i will take all requests/suggestions into account, but i may overrule some things. i have a particular way that i want to set up the league, so i want to weigh my preferences against some of yours.

Not many people do this, but please don't count return yards, cause then guys like Wes Welker lead the league in scoring. It happened to me last year.

You don't have to worry about that.

SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS - FORMAT AND SCORING

I have pretty much always played fantasy football this way:

                  QB
                  WR
                  WR
                  WR
                  RB
                  RB
                  TE
                  WR/RB
                  K
                  BN
                  BN
                  BN

The scoring for offense would look something like this:

                  Completions - .5pt
                  Passing Yards - 40 yards = 1pt
                  Rush Yards - 10 yards = 1 pt
                  Rec Yards - 10 yards = 1 pt
                  Receptions - 1 pt
                  Interceptions - (-)3pt
                  Fumble Lost - (-)2pts
ALL TDs = 6pts (pass, rush, rec, return)

                  39 yd FG and under - 3pts
                  40-49 yd FG - 4 pts
                  50+ - 5pts
                  XP - 1pt
                  Missed FG - (-)1pt

                  Individual defense

                  D
                  D
                  DE
                  DE
                  DB
                  DB
                  BN
                  BN

Individual defense actually separates great managers from average ones in my opinion. You have to understand both sides of the ball in that case. With team defenses, you just draft either Baltimore or Chicago and there's a monopoly on great defenses. Individual is also good because it helps balance out points (to a small degree), it gives you more people to root for, and it makes for a more complex league. I'm assuming that everyone here is a veteran manager.

The scoring for individual defense would look like this:

                  Solo Tackle - 1pt
                  Sack - 2pts
                  Interception - 3pts
                  Forced Fumble - 2pts
                  Fumble Recovery - 3pts
                  Pass Deflection - 1pt
                  TD - 6pts

This format doesn't *generally* give your defense a ton of scoring power, but it does reward excellent defensive performances. There are many players who have standout performances on defense, it's just up to the manager to know who those players will be by checking out matchup strengths/weaknesses.

What does everyone think? Again, these are all possibly subject to change with good reasoning and respectful commentary.
